JUNGLE JUSTICE
Everyone has the right to life and no one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhumane or degrading treatment or punishment. While those charged with a penal offence are innocent until proven guilty by the court of law.
Jungle justice is not only stupid and barbaric, it is unlawful. It is against the law of nature. Everyone has the right to live and one has the right to take anyone else's life.
People rely on jungle justice because they think it is faster. Passing through the process of litigation for them is slow and bureaucratic.
Should we then resort to the dark and Hobbesian ways of resolving differences?
We should not take laws into our hands. We have the police that we can always report to or lay our cases.
Many innocent lives are lost as a result of jungle justice.
Irrespective of the excuses given by the perpetrators of this blind justice, there is no basis or justification to take someone else's life under any extrajudicial circumstances on the ground of jungle justice.
That is more reason our law enforcement agents should be above board in preventing the future occurrences of this blind justice. The government should take extra measures in preventing the future occurrences of this blind justice and the people should have confidence in that.
It is bad to see others rejoicing and recording the misfortune of others with our phone cameras and posting on social media. Those found condoning this blind justice should be severely dealt with. If these people are our friends or relatives, are we gonna rejoice. Let us tell ourselves the truth and put an end to this inhumane treatment called JUNGLE JUSTICE.
Concerted efforts should be made by all to ensure that jungle justice stops in our society.
Do to others what you'd want to be done to you.
